Darchula, Aug. 4: The construction of the Chameliya hydropower project that has been stalled since the month of Jestha (May-June) is still not in progress.China Gejuwa Group of Power Company (CGGC) , who was awarded contract for the construction of the civil has halted entire works since two months back citing payment deferral from Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) breaching the the contract for delaying the project.
With the disruption, the electro mechanical works being carried out by Korean Company have also been affected. According to the Chameliya Hydropower Project source, the Chinese Company has completed the construction of around 4-km tunnel and 95 % of the civil construction.
