Youths are often facing a crossroad in their developmental phase. They are confused regarding the way they want to go, and what is right or what is wrong, as they are bewildered with the development of their psychology, physiology, social and family relations. To spread an easier understanding and a good message, Shailee Theater in collaboration with Radio Sagarmatha F.M. 102.4 MHz has produced the Radio Drama ‘Chaubato’, that will broadcast starting this Monday.

Sharing her thoughts, the playwright Durga Karki says,”The episodes presented from the play will describe the real situation of teenagers in contemporary Nepal. I have no doubts that many youngsters will be able to relate and empathize with the characters of the play.”

The play is conceptualized and titled by the well-known poet and critic Mahesh Paudyal, who highlights the significance of the title of the play as ‘a metaphor of the city where we come across a multitude of crossroads that represents the various possibilities and opportunities youths find themselves stumbling onto that confuses their developing mind.’

Directed by Nabaraj Budhathoki and narrated by Narayani Khadka, the radio play will be aired on Radio Sagarmatha every Monday at 7:15 pm and rebroadcasted each Tuesday at 2:00 pm.

The characters in the drama are played by the actors from Shailee Theater, an organization well known for its long struggle to raise public awareness among children and teenagers.
