Chitwan, 12 May, 2015 : Relief assistance including cash and tens of millions rupees has been gathered by Chitwan district alone for the quake-struck people of neighbouring districts including Gorkha, Dhading, Makawanpur, Nuwakot and Nawalparasi.

Raising aid is being carried out by several organizations and groups in the district due to which the accurate statistics of relief collected is yet to be established. Chitwan alone has collected and distributed relief worth more than Rs 30 millions.

Relief amount of Rs. 4.4 milion has been collected so far by the all side quake survivors relief committee-2072. Similarly, District Natural Disaster Relief Coordination Committee has raised Rs. 1.5 million. Chairperson of Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kalyan Joshi said that they have collected and distributed relief aid worth Rs. 2.5 million in Gorkha, Dhading and Nuwakot.

Chairperson Shivaram KC, Nepal Egg Producers Association has informed that relief materials worth Rs 1.15 million has been distributed to quake victims. Similarly, Industry Association Chitwan, Poultry Entrepreneurs Forum, Poultry Welfare Association, Market Management Association, Manakamana Darshan Private Limited, Bharatpur Eye Hospital, Regional Hotel Association, Bar Association, Lions Club, Community Health Centre, Baghmara Central Community Forest, Hotel Monalisa, Student Volunteer Placement International, Sapana Village Impact and journalists, Banana Entrepreneurs Association, Chitwan Gorkha Society, community forests and private sector are also collecting and distributing aid to quake-hit regions.
