Chitwan Faces Blood Crisis

Chitwan, July 16: The blood crisis has appeared with the onset of monsoon since 15 days in Citwan, as per Regional Blood Transmission Centre, Bharatpur.

The Crisis of blood emerged due to the rise in temperature,start of monsoon and busy schedule of blood donors’ in paddy plantation, Centre Chief Ramesh Kanta Poudel said. He added though the demand for blood in Chitwan is around 150 unit per day it has not been met.

There is huge demand for blood with growing flow of patients in the hospital during this season but the blood donation events to address the crisis are meager.Similarly, in order to address blood deficit in the district the Office has urged social organizations to hold blood donation programme.

Likewise, the Bharatpur-based BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital requires high demand of blood for surgical cases while the demand is also increasing in other government and private hospitals
