CIB ARREST ONE ON CHARGE OF ABDUCTION IN MALAYSIA

Kathmandu, Aug. 12: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Kamal Bahadur Gauli of Purkot in Tanahun, the major accomplice for seeking ransom kidnapping a person in Malaysia.

The CIB said that investigations into Gauli are on by lodging case against him on abduction charge after his arrest from Sauraha of Chitwan based on file lodged by Ram Prasad Nepal of Sudal in Bhaktapur.

The alleged had abducted Mr Nepal and other Malaysians on May 18 from Kotraya of Malaysia and had kept them blindfolded and handcuffed for five days in the middle of a forest, it is charged.

The abductors had sought Rs 3 million ransom from the victims.Abducted Nepal managed to flee the clutch of the kidnappers when the vehicle they were travelling to the city from the forest met with an accident.

Likewise, the CIB has arrested government officials and entrepreneurs for preparing fake visas and government stamps and documents.

Assistant informant of the National Investigation Department Bipin Kumar Singh, a permanent resident of Huti VDc-8 of Darchula district, was arrested for using a letter head of the Department for preparing the document for visa from the French Embassy claiming himself as an Investigation Officer. Kishor Thapa, operator of the Naya Bazaar-based IMI International Ptv Ltd, was arrested based on the statement of Singh.

The CIB confirmed that Rs 800,000 to Rs 2 million has been charged after issuing the visas from different persons for preparing the fake documents.
