Kathmandu, August 3, 2017: A group of girls are going to host a fascinating event at City Center Kamalpokhari this Friday, on August 4.
The 18 cohort members of EmpowHER, a leadership and capacity building program for young women by Ujyalo Foundation, are organizing the program ‘AASHA’ (translating to ‘Hope’ in English). The event is being organized with the vision of women empowerment, reflecting hopes, dreams, and aspirations of young women.
The event will feature different stalls including hand-made accessories, hand-made paper crafts, DOCHAA shoes, beautiful Mehendi designs, emoji pillows and a lot more. Also, Happy Hands Nepal, actively involved in making cards, will showcase their cards designed by deaf women. The event will also entertain an hour long ‘Free Salsa Workshop’ by social media personality, Sanna Tsering Gurung.
“Buying local products to support local women group could be a small step from our side for a bigger impact. Along with promoting our Nepali culture and tradition, we want to make sure that it contributes to the empowerment of girls and women which has always been our main motto,” Nancy Sherpa, one of the organizers of the event, shared to Glocal Khabar.
She expressed that this charity event, which is an annual event, will be different and more innovative every next year. All in all, the EmpowHER team wants everyone to enjoy the workshops and stalls and contribute to this social cause. They extend their warm welcome to everyone in this event open for all ages.
