Kathmandu,15 Dec 2014:Â Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development, Prakash Man Singh, said that the management and regulation of the City Hall would be arranged as per the wish of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)
Inaugurating the 20th Establishment Day of the KMC today, DPM Singh said though the government has formed a committee to manage the hall in the days ahead as it was repaired and maintained by the government for the 18th SAARC summit, its management should be handed over to the KMC.
He further said that the local bodies’ election should be held soon as it has not been held for long which has created various problems in the developmental activities at local level.
It should be held even after promulgating a new constitution by January 22, Singh added.
On the occasion, lawmakers Kaushar Shah and Rambir Manandhar also opined for local bodies’ election and to end unnecessary political interference in official activities.
Similarly, Executive Chief at the KMC and other officials urged the government to prioritize the activities of the KMC.
