Cloth Bank is a great initiation by a group of people, 100’s group. This is located in Anamnagar and in current days, it is gaining popularity for this social venture.
Bir Bahadur Bista is one of the member who manages the cloth bank located in Anamnagar. Youtubers have been covering this act and has recently gained media coverage that they deserve. He also explain the about this initiative to curious passersby and giving interviews to the media.
“There are many unused decent clothes that we keep untouched in the cupboard. We are helping people to reuse the clothes for a good purpose” says Bist. He also has a warm request to people to donate clothes which are not torn and is wearable rather than just donating clothes that is not in use for them.
They have put the rack on the footpath where you see different types of clothes hung and there are other reusable items. Anyone can donate their clothes there and anyone who finds their use of clothes or items can take it. This is placed in the busy street so that people get easy access to reach them and get an opportunity to help people who are in need.
One of the care member from 100’s is Saugat Gautam who is very happy that people are actually showing interest in this exceptional origination of his team and shows satisfaction towards this growing humanitarian initiation.
“We did collect old-worn clothes in the past too. However, it wasn’t practical for us to go from door-to-door asking for voluntary donations. We are also sending the collected clothes to the flood victims of Province 2.” says Gautam. People who were in need came to Anamnagar all the way from Jorpati to get clothes.
Saugat also talks about the future goals of the organization. They are planning to open a small food counter for economically underprivileged people if they receive enough funds for it.
