Atlanta, May 30, 2016:Â The soft drink known for its iconic red can is getting a patriotic makeover.
Coca-Cola created a limited edition “I’m proud to be an American†red, white and blue can in honor of its 75-year partnership with the United Service Organizations.
“The custom patriotic packaging is Coca-Cola’s special way of commemorating and thanking the USO for its many years of impactful work to help keep the nation’s military men and women connected to family, home and country throughout their time of service,†Erika von Heiland Strader, director, Community Marketing, Coca-Cola North America said in a release.
The specially-designed cans will be available in 16-ounce cans as well as 20, 24 and 35 packs of 12-ounce cans through the Fourth of July weekend.
Lee Greenwood, who sang “God Bless the USA,” which its refrain is featured on the can, approved.
“What a privilege to #ShareACoke in honor of (the USO’s) 75th birthday,” Greenwood tweeted.

Coca-Cola is not the first company to adopt special patriotic packaging.
Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch released a repackaged “America†can through the presidential election in November.
