Kathmandu, June 22, 2016:Â The dead bodies and mortal remains of the 12 Nepalis killed in Kabul on Monday have been brought to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.
Tears rolled down the eyes of the kin of the deceased and the general public who had gathered at TIA when the coffins were taken out of the NAC plane.
Nepalese Army personnel took out the bodies from the plane. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, ministers and government officials wore a gloomy look when the bodies were being transferred from the plane to the airport.
Nepal government had sent a special chartered plane to Kabul at 3:30 am today Â to fetchÂ the bodies of 12 Nepalis killed in Talibani suicide bomb attack.
Other Nepali citizens who wish to come back home in the same flight couldÂ also be accommodated in the plane to the possible extent,Â Bharat Paudel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had Â said.
Tirtha Raj Aryal, Nepalâ€™s acting ambassador to Pakistan, to Kabul hadÂ coordinatedÂ with the hospitals and Afghan authorities for medical evacuation of the injured Nepalis as well as for bringing the dead bodies to Nepal.
As may 14 security guards – 12 Nepalis and two Indian nationals – were killed and seven others were injuredÂ Â in a Tabliban suicide bomb attack on Monday morning.Â The Ministry of Home Affairs is coordinating with victimsâ€™ families to handover the bodies.
