Saptari, 5 January, 2018: Due to the sudden amplification of the cold and freezing wind in Saptari since the last week, the community schools have been closed for four days.
According to the District Education Office, Saptari, due to continuous frigidity in the temperature, the children have stopped coming to their schools. Dolraj Pandey, District Administration Officer, mentioned that these schools have been closed since the last Friday. “As students are absent on a daily basis, we are forced to shut all the schools down,” remarked Pandey.
Even though the 412 community schools in Saptari have shut down as per the decision of the education committee meeting, the private schools are still in operation.
The cold has affected the daily life of people in different districts of Terai districts.
