Lamki (Kailali), 8 March, 2015: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Prakashman Singh has said that the new constitution would be promulgated through consensus.
At a news conference here today, Singh said the new statute would be promulgated through consensus as maximum efforts were underway in this regard.
Stating that initiatives were on to forge consensus as the opposition parties have come for talks, Singh said discussions on the contentious issues including the form of governance, federalism and electoral system were going on.
DPM Singh, also the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, clarified that the new constitution would be promulgated even through majority process if political parties failed to forge consensus.
Responding to a query, the NC General Secretary said he could file his candidacy for the post of party president in the upcoming 13th General Convention.
