Gorkha, Sept 20: Country’s first woman bulldozer driver was honoured here Friday.Nepal being one of the developing country has very less working woman. The structure of society rarely encourages working of woman. The condition in rural areas is more unsupportive. But these are just small information for those who want to do something on their own.Muna Ghimire proved her zeal to do things by being first Nepali women to drive dozer. She was awarded for her courage and action.

Muna Ghimire (Shrestha) of Borlang VDC-4 in Gorkha district was feted by Heavy Equipment Entrepreneurs Association. Ghimire is driving bulldozer for 18 years by choosing this profession at the age of 16.16 might not be the age for many to be independent. But Muna being interested to be self dependent moved ahead and learnt driving. This is an inspiration for all Nepali women who want to move forward in their life. If you are passionate about something nothing can stop you from doing things you desire.

Chief District Officer Bed Prasad Kharel, outgoing district chairman of association Phanindra Bhatta and central committee member of association Tara Bahadur Kunwar felicitated Ghimire for her courage.Awarding her was a matter of pride to whole nation. With the changing world scenario, Nepal as a developing country needs to focus more on woman empowerment if it aspires to get developed.
