CPN-MAOIST LOST KEY OPPORTUNITY REMAINING ABSENT IN ALL-PARTY MEET: DPM SINGH

Kathmandu, Sept 18: Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress General Secretary, Prakash Man Singh, said that CPN-Maoist lost an important opportunity for forging consensus in constitution drafting process by remaining absent in the all-party political conference.

“Prime Minister and NC president Sushil Koirala has clearly stated that the new constitution should be drafted through political consensus; but the CPN-Maoist did not participate in it and committed a serious mistake,” DPM Singh added.

Speaking in a programme commemorating the 17th memorial day of Ganesh Man Singh, a veteran democracy fighter, at Shovabhagawati in the capital today, DPM Singh said that his party is much flexible to forge a political consensus for the constitution. The programme was organised by the Ganesh Man Singh Study Foundation

He further said that the chance of CPN-Maoist’s participation in the constitution drafting process has not been lost yet if they become serious.

DPM Singh said that the veteran democracy fighter the late Ganesh Man played a vital role to establish the democracy in the nation, therefore, the party should be serious to establish the democratic socialism following the path of the late leader.

Speaking on a different note, DPM Singh said that the PM could reshuffle the cabinet by changing and adding the ministers if he feels necessary.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress has decided to mark the birth centenary of late leader Singh by organizing different programmes from coming November 10 for a year.
