Kathmandu: Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naxal, Kathmandu organized the ‘Art Photography’ in coordination with the Department of Architecture and Other Creative Arts. In this Photo competition, some excellent examples of art were presented through photography.
In the competition, Mr. Mithun Kunwar took a photograph of people painting a house before Dashain in Palpa and received the first position.
Similarly, Mr. Prabin Shrestha received the second position, snapshot of an enchanted girl in her ‘bel bivaha’ outfit taken in Bhaktapur.
Mr. Daya Sagar KC took a picture of wood craved by an artisan in Patan Durbar Square area, was ranked in third. A photo of gumba pictured against a misty sky was awarded to photojournalist Mr. Skanda Gautam in the consolation prize.
The young winners conveyed happiness and were satisfied to receive the honor. Mr. Kunwar, Mr. Shrestha, Mr. K.C and Mr. Gautam received the prize of Rs. 40,000, Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Photojournalist Gautam delighted to receive the honor of a respected photographer Mr. Mani Lama, and vice-chancellor of the Academy, the veteran photojournalist Mr. Gopal Chitrakar.
A total of 221 photographers from around the country participated, sending around 1,000 photographs for the competition. Of all the photographs collected in the competition, 70 were exhibited at the exhibition organized by the Academy on Friday.
