15 February 2015:Â Virat Kohli scored a hundred as India opened the defence of their World Cup crown with a comprehensive 76-run win over arch rivals Pakistan in Adelaide.
Kohli’s 107 underpinned India’s total of 300-7, with Shikhar Dhawan (73) and Suresh Raina (74) also weighing in.
Pakistan began promisingly with the bat as they reached 102-2 in the 24th over.
But the loss of five wickets for 52 runs sealed their fate, and captain Misbah-ul-Haq’s 76 merely added respectability to their 224 all out.
