Kathmandu, October 12: An awareness rally has been organized on the occasion of the World Arthritis Day in the capital city this morning.
The Norvic International Hospital took out the cycle rally from Thapathali to Tripushereshwor, Basantapur, Jamal, Durbar Marg, Nagpokhari, Naxal, Sano Gaucharan, Gyaneshowor, Airport, Tinkune, New Baneshwor and Maitighar and concluded by returning to the hospital premises.
Dr Arun Kumar Gupta who led the rally said at Basantapur that 1.5 percent of the total population in the world is suffering arthritis, and o.5 percent Nepalis are also the victims of this disease.
According to him, the people who are used to smoking, drinks, and work in cold places for long are prone to arthritis.
Similarly, people with unhealthy lifestyle, genetic problems, bone weakening and uric acid can witness arthritis, and the women completing menstrual years are also likely to get this disease.
Arthritis can be in bone, joint, skin and others.
The rally was attended by 80 people addition to doctors.
