Lamjung, Nov 5: Daily life of the locals in Lamjung district and Manang has been adversely affected due to the damaged road linking Besisahar of Lamjung to Chame of Manang.
The road was damaged due to the landslide occurred some five months ago in Myardibhir in the area bordering both the districts, Lamjung and Manang.
Only few vehicles (mainly jeep) have been operating in the damaged road, as a result majority of the locals are compelled to cover 30 kilometres of the road-distance on foot.
Locals apart, due to the limited mobility of the vehicles, foreigners visiting Manang for tourism, too have been affect.
Division of Roads which is accountable for its day-to-day operation and maintenance constructed by the Nepalese Army, has assigned a contractor announcing a bid, yet the maintenance of the road is taking place at snail-pace.
Due to the limited vehicle mobility, the prices of the daily commodities have soared up.
