Kathmandu, August 21, 2015: At the age of 92, Swami Prapannacharya died this morning.
Since a long time, he was troubled from illness related to prostate and respiration. At the Mrigasthali Ashram in Pashupatinath temple premises, Swami Prapannacharya passed away at 3:30 am today.
A member of the then Raj Parishad Standing Committee said that the Swami has many research-based creations published in Nepali language, literature and culture. One of his very popular creation is ‘Bed ma k cha?’ (what is in Veda?).
Nepal Sanskrit University had recently honored him with the Mahabidhyawaridhi title. The State had been providing him a life-long allowance of Rs. 30,000 per month in recognition of his contributions.
Born in 1980 B.S. in Paanchthar district, at the age of 30 years, Swami Prapannacharya is learnt to have started reading and writing.
