Deepshikha Ghimire, 18, is an undergraduate student of Psychology at Tribhuvan University who likes to call herself as an optimistic person and believes in possibilities of smart work.
Moreover, she is the President of a youth running group called AAYAM which has 18 board members who are all below 18 years of age. Likewise, she is the member of National Youth Consulting team at Santosh Shah Foundation. She is engaged in various forums through Association of Psychologist in Nepal (Bachelor student) relating to psychology and mental health. She is also the General Member of Smart Club. And, above all she is a writer.
Starting of her journey
She has published a book named “Mero Gyanmandir”, a poetry collection when she was only 13, for which she won the popular Award- “नइ देरुनीखप्प बाल साहित्य पुरष्कार .
“To be honest, I’m an egoistic kind of person and I’m good at transforming my egos into ideas and possibilities. I again would like to remember that, 5 years back, one of my friends accused me of my inability to write a book. The ego of that day guided me to complete and publish the book, which is why I’m here today”, she replied when she was asked how she paved her path to the field of writing.
She always used to dream to become the voice of voiceless. In order to express her ideas, she started to write at the age of 12. Her articles and writings got published in the popular daily newspaper like Kantipur, Republica, and Annapurna which inspired her furthers.
Making a difference
The thing that made her different from rest of the world is expression of her ideas into words which eventually turned into an event. She jots down her ideas in the form of poetry, essays, and blogs. Few months back, she wrote the blog on ‘Date Rape’, which after few weeks ended with a grand interaction session.
She has conducted ‘Brain Parlour’ session for SEE students, ‘Heart parlour’ for youths, ‘Mehendi for a Cause’, and ‘Essay Writing Competition’ among 500 teenagers and youths. All these events hold a very special meaning. Whether it is heart parlour session for SEE students to empower them or it is a Mehendi for a Cause event to collect money for children deprived from education, she has always aimed to transform the society and its perception.
A step towards teen hero
She came to know about the Glocal Teen Hero through facebook page of Glocal Teen Hero and has been following it since months. And, one of her friends suggested her to apply for it . She felt much excited when she found herself in the list of Glocal’s 20 under 20.
Whatever she has done in her age is beyond imagination. There are only few people who are successful to find their passion. But she, at an early age, found her passion and utilized it to create impacts on the life of youths and teenagers like her. Anyone can learn how to change weakness into strength from her life. Deepshikha Ghimire ,CEO of ‘Bank of Ideas’, called by her friends, is an inspiration to all the teens who are aspirants of writing for the change of society.
