Kathmandu, Aug. 26: The Industry, Commerce and Consumer Welfare Coordination Committee of the Legislature-Parliament today directed the Ministry of Industry to provide information regarding the efforts being made towards reopening the closed tea industries.
A letter sent to the Ministry and signed by the committee secretary Sudarshan Khadka states that as the committee has received information that the tea growing farmers have suffered losses due to the closure of the tea industries operated in Ilam district in the main production season. The committee demands ministry to be serious on reopening of these closed industries.
