Bhadrapur, Jan 28: The District Forest Office, Jhapa has decided to invest Rs 36 million for the forest management and expansion in the district.
The Office has allocated Rs 18 million to run various programmes under the Forest Decade Year-2071 BS.
Similarly, the office allocated Rs 3.5 million for the President Chure Forest Conservation Development Committee, Rs 1.1 million for national forest promotion programme, Rs 400,000 for preserving wildlife, Rs 1.6 million for community forest development programme and Rs 12 million for human and wild elephant conflict management programme.
The budget allocated under the aforementioned title will be used for extending the forest area, stopping the smuggling of timber, preserving the forest under the President Chure Conservation Development Committee, sapling plantation, and controlling flood and landslides.
As per the Forest Decade (2071-2081 BS), two hotspots of the programme will be developed in each constituency in the district.
