Kathmandu, Sept 15: CPN-Maoist Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has taken a step to end inequality and defects seen in education sector.
In a programme on ‘Challenges in implementing agreement over fees adjustment’ held by All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) close to CPN-Maoist Monday, the leader mentioned the necessity to take action against schools charging wishful fees. He stressed for ending disparity seen among the schools.
ANNISU-R has been launching agitation since September 3, demanding implementation of repeated agreements reached regarding fees adjustment.
National Private Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (gajurel to ga-PABSAN) Chairman Karna Bahadur Shahi said that the private school students must also be entitled to 45 per cent scholarship given by the government.Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization, Nepal (PABSON) Chairman Laxya Bahadur KC said that the images of better schools were being tainted due to trend seen in some private schools to charge wanton fees.
An agreement had been reached to adjust the fees increased during the current academic session three months back in the following months.
The Supreme Court for the first time on Jestha 10, 2069 BS and secondly on Chaita 5 2070 BS had issued an interim order barring the implementation of the decision hike fees.
