DPM GAUTAM INSPECTS JURE LANDSLIDE AREA

Banepa Aug. 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam has carried out an on-site inspection of the landslide affected areas of Jure in Sindhupalchowk district today.

DPM Gautam met the landslide affected people on the occasion and heard their complaints. During the DPM’s visit to the area, the affected people urged him to intensify the rescue works as they were beyond the contact of their relatives who were reportedly lost in the landslide.

Rescuers’ teams have been mobilized to rescue and assess the loss occurred there and the government would immediately manage the appropriate and safer places for the affected people, DPM Gautam added.

Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been mobilized for the rescue task on the site. At least nine people were killed and about a hundred people are missing in the accident.
