Bardiya, Jan 2,2014: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam has expressed the confidence that a new constitution would be promulgated by coming January 22.
Speaking at a press meet at Gulariya, the district headquarters of Bardiya, today, lawmaker and CPN (UML) Vice Chair Gautam said the draft of a new constitution has already been prepared and the country would get a new constitution within the scheduled time.
The ruling parties would have no choice except to going for a process to bring the constitution by securing oppositions’ views, if the last hour attempts of convincing them of consensus turned futile, he added.
The CA has two-third majority preferring the promulgation of a new statute within  the deadline. “Our focus will be on the promulgation of the consensus-based constitution even by keeping the disputed issues in pending,” he added.
Meanwhile, Minister Gautam inaugurated the new building of District Police Office Baridya.
