Pokhara, 28 December, 2017: Culture activist and literary figure, Dr.Jagman Gurung will be awarded this year’s Lekhnath Literary Award.
Kunta Devi Bhattarai, Kabi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudel’s youngest daughter will present an amount of Rs 50,000 as well as a copper plaque and shawl to the awardee.
Padma Raj Dhakal, Chairperson of Lekhnath Literary Foundation, informed that Dr.Gurung’s substantial contributions to the growth of Nepali culture and literature has led him to be honored with the award.
The award selection committee comprised of Foundation Adviser and award revolving fund chairperson Dr.Shukraraj Adhikari. They recommended Dr.Gurung for this year’s Lekhnath Literary Award.
Born in Yangjakot of Madi rural municipality of Kaski, Dr.Jagman Gurung has six cultural and research books in his credit.
