Drug abuse and prevention awareness programme successfully organized at Tilottama Campus in Butwal

Butwal, July 29, 2016: Tilottama Campus in Rupandehi recently organized an awareness programme on ‘Drug Abuse & Prevention’ in collaboration with Lumbini Zone police office, Rupandehi. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Mr. RC Dhakal, Chairperson of the Campus. SSP Sher Bahadur Basnet, Lumbini Zone Police Chief graced the programme as Chief Guest. The programme also saw the valuable presence of senior Journalist and social Activist Mr. Dilip Bhattarai & Prof. Dr. RC Acharya (Founder principal of Tilottama Campus.

In the programme inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest Mr. Sher Bahadur Basnet, Mr. Badri Panthi, Vice-Principal of Tilottama Campus welcomed all the participants with a speech. He said that the campus feels honored to welcome Mr. Dilip Bhattarai and Mr. Sher Bahadur Basnet as the two keynote speakers in the programme.

Giving a Keynote speech on the topic ‘DRUG ABUSE: A JOURNEY TO HELL’, Mr. Dilip Bhattarai, as a resource person, presented the different facts and figures regarding the use of drugs in the past and present. Speaking at the special session, he also claimed that the use of drug leads to a hellish life. “Please don’t ever dare to try it for a momentary pleasure or peer pressure,” he requested to all the youths present in the programme. Similarly, presenting on the topic ‘DRUG ADDICTION & TRAFFICKING IN NEPAL,’ the other keynote speaker and the Chief Guest of the programme, SSP Basnet stated that all the students present in the programme should work as ambassadors to spread the positive message to their family, friends and society creating a better and livable society.

The one day awareness programme concluded with the distribution of the token of love to the chief guest and guest of honor by Prof. Dr. RC Acharya. Giving his closing remarks, RC Dhakal, Chairperson of the programme stated that the students of the campus should work as activists to eradicate and control the drug addiction problem in Nepal and requested them to spread the message through awareness programmes to each and every section of the campus. Coordinated by Founder Principal Prof. Dr. RC Acharya and conducted by Mr. Kismat Pachhai, the programme was an outstanding success with more than 200 students of Xll Standard (Science) participating the programme.
