Most consider Karnali as a far away place. But, those who experience the real beauty of Karnali at least once, can’t let it go away from their eyes. And, those who reach Rara lake feel like not returning from there. Rara is the mine of beauty situated in Mugu district of Karnali. The beauty of a bride at a wedding mandap looks diluted in front of Rara.
Constantly changing its looks throughout the day, Rara looks like a Princess of heaven from May to October, when it is covered with different flowers. To watch the real beauty of Rara, one needs to reach Murma Top, walking for about three hours towards the west.
Situated at an altitude of 2972m above sea level, the lake has been spread over 10.8 square kilometers.
