Earthquake Devastation Monitored By Parliamentary Commitee

May 17, 2015: The devastation caused by the April 25 earthquakes and the aftershocks in the district today is being monitored by a parliamentary committee led by Constituent Assembly member Shiva Lal Thapa.

The monitoring began from Kakada Agara of the district and the committee comprises CA members Pharmullah Mansoor, Manju Kumari Chaudhari and Narendra Saha. More than 37,700 houses were destroyed while 3,200 got partial damages in the district.

Therefore, Assistant Chief District Officer Chandra Bahadur Karki has said that for the relief distribution the District natural disaster rescue committee and different organizations have finalized in the district. He added that the district witnessed 34 casualties and treated some 574 injured persons. Data collection on the death and damages was in full swing.
