Earthquake Shakes Alaska


June 25, 2015: 5.8 magnitude earthquake shakes Alaska, quake centered 64 miles (103 kilometers) west of Willow, and roughly 75 miles (121 kilometers) west-northwest of Anchorage. According to USGS depth was estimated at 65 miles.

No injuries are reported yet. Earthquake occurred at 2:34 p.m.

Quake was centered in mountainous area having few people so it is expected that there is less human injury. According to USGS most structures in the region are resistant to damage from shaking.
