EASTERN ROAD DIVISION OFFICE, ILLAM, BREAKS AGREEMENT SIGNED FOUR YEARS BACK

Ilam, Aug. 8: The Eastern Road Division Office, Ilam, has breached the agreement signed with Mahadev Khimti Construction Company four years ago.

The Division Office had signed the agreement with the company for the maintenance and repair works of the dilapidated road section along the Mechi Highway.Chief at the Division Office, Chandra Narayan Yadav, said that the office breached the agreement and also confiscated the deposit, citing the construction company did not carry out repair and maintenance work even if four years passed after the agreement.

According to the Office, it would confiscate Rs 4 million deposit, deposited by the construction company for the work execution, and recover Rs 18 million. The Office has forwarded a process to keep the construction company in the ‘black list’ after it did not forward repair and maintenance works even if the deadline was extended time and again.

The construction company had got responsibility to carryout repair and maintenance works on 23.55 kilometers from Phikkal-Chihandanda, 32.14 km from Chureghanti-Ranke, 10 km from Maikhola-Phikkal, and 15 km from Ranke to Kanchhi Dokan of Panchthar.

Yadav said that the construction company has already received payment amounting to Rs 4.9 million after completing 18 per cent works along Maikhola-Phikkal road section and Rs 2.2 million after completing 10 per cent work along Phikkal-Chihandanda road. RSS
