Ilam, 1st February, 2015Â : Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has said the Election Commission has started making permanent election code of conduct.
“The election commission is making preparations for formulating permanent election code of conduct in time than making them in rush hour,” Yadav said. “We are making permanent rules for the election rather than making it time and again,” he added.

Speaking at an interaction with the authorities concerned in Ilam district headquarters today, Dr Yadav said the Commission has been updating and verifying the voters’ list, and prioritising thye formulation of the election code of conduct.
He said the commission was amending the Election Act for the local bodies’ election, ensuring 50 per cent women’s participation in the local bodies, among other things.
The commission started the process for updating the voter’s list since January 29 and urged the political parties in the district to support in this work.
Chairman of the District Programme Management Committee and Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal said all parties should follow the code of conduct and support on conducting the election in the effective and dignified manner.
During the interaction, representatives of various political parties, civil society, NGOs, and journalists in the district were present at the programme.
