A pledge to promote youth employment by SOS Children’s Villages

Kathmandu, April 29, 2018: SOS Children’s Villages pledged to extend its support to promote youth employment in Nepal. The organization ensured the support if government could brought up new plans for youth employment in the country. Government has received yet another support to work on cross cutting issue of the country.

SOS Children’s Villages rebuilt 177 houses in Bhimtaar, Indrawati Rural Municipality-12 in Sindhupalchowk district and 107 houses in Lankuridanda of Dolakha district post earthquake. Currently, a team of SOS Children’s Villages International is in Nepal to participate in the program organized for houses hand over, including its President Siddhartha Kaul.

On behalf of the organization, President Kaul in the meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other government officials expressed organization’s readiness to cooperate with the government. He proclaimed that the support for the vulnerable children would continue in coming days. He further explained the organizational structure and the works in 135 countries, carrying out for the proper care, education and upbringing of underprivileged children.

Prime Minister Oli stressed on responsibility of national and international non-governmental organisations to make the government’s student enrollment campaign successful.Praising the work of SOS Children’s Villages in Nepal, PM Oli urged to give continuity to such works in future also.In response, president Kaul said his organisation was always ready to support programmes related to children and education.
