Kathmandu, October 24, 2018: Teach for All Conference is being held in Kathmandu from Wednesday. The Global Conference of Teach for All will include Teach for Nepal (TN) sharing the success stories and contribution of transforming public education in Nepal to the World.

This is an annual conference assembling the worldwide members of the network for connection, learn and exchange new ideas with each other.

TN has been coving small scale of schools since its inception in 2013.TN is known for making good progress in the teaching and learning activities in public schools.

For example, Chadeshwari Secondary School in Lalitpur is the only public school with nil pass outs in SLC (School Leaving Certificate) of 2013. TN chose this school particularly because of this in its first year. After 5 years, the school pass out rate in SEE is 100%.

Also, Sangita Jimba who is SEE graduate became first from the school to receive the full scholarship for studying International Baccalaureate in Germany.

TN initiative was conceived by a group of Nepali Youth who graduated abroad to address the concerns regarding the quality of education imparted in public schools. TN aims the transformation of public school education through mobilization of outstanding university graduates and professionals in teaching.

Other 48 countries are also running initiative like TN. As the community engagement is more peculiar, the fellows must spend two years in the local level and interact in the community level.

Shishir Khanal who is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of TN shared, “The three-day global conference carries the theme, ‘Community at the Centre’. One aspect of putting a community at the centre is ensuring voices and stories of those closest to the problems being addressed are central to the solutions. This is what we can proudly share in the conference.”

Around 500 national and international delegates from 60 countries – 48 Teach for All member nations and 12 others will take part in the conference that ends on Friday. There will be indoor presentations along with visits to the schools in Lalitpur and Sindhupalchowk by the participants covered by TN.
