Election Commission launches Mobile App targeting the upcoming local election

Kathmandu, April 28, 2017: The Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) today launched a mobile app with a motive to inform voters about the upcoming local level election.

The mobile app named ‘ECN’ was launched amidst a special programme organized at the ECN premises this afternoon.

One can get various types of election-related information like the election programme, voter list details, polling stations, details of election candidates and vote results through the apps.

The election-related information dispatched through the apps would come in both Nepali and English.

The app can be downloaded from the website of Election Commission, Google Play, or from Apple Store.

Call Center comes into operation

Likewise, ECN also brought into operation a call center with the toll-free number-16600144222 to facilitate the voters to access information and to conduct voters’ education.

The call center is operated from the ECN’s office at Kantipath where as many as six persons take calls from 8 am to 8 pm until June 17 and provide information on the upcoming election.

Inaugurating the center, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has made it clear that the center has been brought into operation for addressing election-related queries.
