Khotang,Aug.2: Meanwhile, the district administration office Khotang has announced emergency areas to various 25 villages and settlements of 14 VDCs in the district considering the possible floods after the blockade of the Bhotekoshi River at Jure of Ramche-5 in Sindhupalchowk district.
An emergency meeting of the natural disaster rescue committee took this decision. The areas declared emergency are Kurleghat of Bhahunidanda, Targaon, Charbote, Baitar and Raighat of Dikuwa, Balungmari of Chyamsitar, Haide of Durchhim, Bhandbesi of Dhitung. Similarly, other areas deemed of high risk are, Bhandbesi, Godelighat, Regmitar, Ramailo, Tekmutar, Rasuwaghat, Bhorleni, Dhaplang, Mangsingtar, Malbase, Arnatar, Pauwasera, Panitar, Buwajorghat, Buwabandh, Maintar, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Arjun Rai.
The police and the local administration have announced a notice through the local media, urging the people not to stay, but leave the downstream area of the Sunkoshi River.
