St Vincent's 'St Vincent' named NME's Album Of The Year 2014

26 November,2014: St Vincent’s self-titled album has been named NME’s Album Of The Year 2014.

NME’s Track Of The Year for 2014, meanwhile, is Future Islands’ ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’.

The full Top 50 list of both albums and tracks is featured in this week’s issue of NME, on newsstands and available digitally now. It includes in-depth interviews with a host of artists whose work made the lists.

The full list of NME’s Tracks Of The Year will be revealed on NME.COM today (November 26), with NME’s Albums Of The Year to follow tomorrow (November 27). Readers can vote for their own albums and tracks of the year later this week.

‘St Vincent’ was released on February 24 and is the fourth album from the Texan musician whose real name is Annie Clark. It includes the tracks ‘Digital Witness’ and ‘Prince Johnny’ – both of which also feature in NME’s Tracks Of The Year list. On its release, NME labelled the album a record “for dancing and for feeling”, celebrating its “boldness” and ability to connect with the listener.

Future Islands’ ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ was taken from the Baltimore band’s fourth LP ‘Singles’ and was their mainstream breakthrough hit. ‘Singles’ was released through 4AD on March 25.

Last year, Arctic Monkeys topped the Albums of 2013 list with fifth LP ‘AM’, while Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ was named Track Of The Year 2013.
