Biratnagar, 17 October,2014Â : Central Committee member of the Nepali Congress, Sijata Koirala, has said ethnic-based federalism would not be acceptable to the Nepali Congress at any cost.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, Koirala stressed on federalism on the basis of geography and identity.
She further said that the new constitution should be promulgated even after keeping the disputed issues including federalism, form of governance and judicial and electoral system pending if consensus was not forged on the same.
Koirala said the new constitution should be promulgated on January 22, 2015 in order to settle the remaining disputed issues after the promulgation of the new constitution.
She added it would be better to make five-development regions in the form of federal units if political parties agreed for the same. Source: RSS
