Aug. 7: The export of Musuro pulse has decreased through the eastern border point of Kakadbhatta in the last fiscal year 2070-71 BS. The export decreased because of reduced pulse production in Nepal, said Mechi Chambers Chairman Bijaya Dalmiya.
In the fiscal year, musuro pulse worth only Rs. 1.01 billion was exported as against Rs. 2.63 billion in the previous fiscal year. The amount exported last FY was 16.66 million kg, whereas it was 21.6 million kg in the previous year.
It is exported to Bangladesh, India and Bhutan via the point, said Mechi Customs Office Chief Mukti Pandey. But both the commercial production and demand from Bangladesh has decreased.
The Customs charges Rs. 1 per kg of export.
