Kathmandu, Sept 18: A large number of women have been thronging Risheswar Mahadev Temple at Teku, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-12 since morning in a fair organized on the occasion of Rishi Panchami.
The fair is organized every year on Rishi Panchami that falls on the fifth day of the waning moon of the Nepali month Bhadra.
Security personnel, representatives of various social organizations and Nepal Scouts have been mobilized for the management of the fair that is coordinated by the Ward No-12 of KMC, shared Hem Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Metropolitan Police Range, Kalimati.
In view of the festival, the temple of Lord Shiva was open for the devotees since 12 o’clock last night.
Women were seen performing Puja and paying homage to the ‘seven saints’ and offerings to various deities. The ritual marks the final day of the Teej festival.
Some foreigner women were also seen queuing up to pay homage to Lord Shiva at the Risheswar Mahadev Temple.
