Kanchanpur,13 Nov 2014: An advanced boxing training centre constructed for the first time in the far-western region has been inaugurated.
Nepal Army brigadier commander (Bhagatpur-based No 25 Brigade) Ganga Bahadur Gurung inaugurated the centre amidst a programme here today. Its construction cost Rs 5.2 million. On the occasion he said the centre would be a supportive in training boxing players.
Similarly, former lawmaker Tekendra Prasad Bhatta said the far-western region has got infrastructure for the promotion of boxing with the construction of the training centre.
The centre was constructed at an initiative of Kanchanpur Boxing Association and was supported by various organisations including the NA Bhagatpur-based brigade office, National Sports Council and District Development Committees in the region.Â Â The NA provided the assistance of worth Rs 2 million including voluntary labour for its construction.Â Fifty people can be trained at a time in the centre.Â The parapet has a seating capacity of 500-700 people. Its construction had begun around two years ago.
