11 Things That Can Make You Forget Your Smartphone

    We all have these moments where we unconsciously forget to look at our phones. Those moments are rare and special, as we almost never look up from our phones unless and until we’re compelled to. Here are 11 things that can give you those ‘moments’ where you don’t remember to check Facebook likes, WhatsApp notifications and your Instagram followers:

    1. Spend your time spinning fidget spinners

    People who spin fidget spinners have discovered that the device keeps them busy, leaving them no time to look at their devices. Studies have also found out that fidget spinning improves concentration and helps students with ADHD.

    2. Lose yourself while eating a delicious, moist chocolate cake

    Leave looking at your phone, relishing a good chocolate cake will make you forget the entire world. Even if you feel like gobbling up an entire piece, the best way to finish cake is by eating a morsel by morsel with peace.

    3. Sit by the window with a cup of tea

    You will be surprised to see how time flies if you sit by the window with a cup of tea or coffee. There’s something about the windows and tea, which makes us contemplative and pensive.

    4. Dance to your favourite song

    Throw away your phone in a corner. Put out your favourite song and shake a leg. Recording your dance videos for Snapchat will defeat the purpose.

    5. Go on a long ride

    On a weekend, the best way to avoid your phone is by going on a long ride alone or along with your partner.

    6. Play gully cricket with your society kids

    An hour or two of gully cricket with your society kids would refresh you and make your weekend a great one.

    7. Cook up a storm in your kitchen

    To avoid phone beeps, whip up a nice dish in your kitchen, which would keep you busy for an hour. Sandwiches and omelettes don’t count. Once finish, you’re then free to take pictures and put it on Instagram.

    8. Stream a TV series

    Binge-watching can also make you forget your phone as you would be hooked on to episodes after episodes of an interesting TV series.

    9. Lock yourself in the bathroom

    Buy some exotic bath bombs and fragrances, and get into the bath for hours. A good shower is a solution to all your problems.

    10. Even if you’re not a fan of reading, try

    When was the last time you read a book, instead of reading a notification? Even if you’re not a reading, you can try reading newspapers and magazines.

    11. Catch up with your parents

    We often try to avoid talking to our parents because we are so busy with our phones! Keep your phone on silent and strike a conversation with them. Ask them about their day and see how much happy and surprised they would be.
