Kathmandu, November 4, 2017: The Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Peter Budd on Friday felicitated 26 Australia Awards Scholarship recipients who will be commencing their graduate studies in Australia in January 2018.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Budd congratulated the awardees and reminded them that they have been selected to participate in Australia Awards for their potential to make significant contributions to the development of Nepal.

Out of the 26 Australia Awards recipients, 13 scholarships were awarded to women; and two were awarded to people with disability.

The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships and fellowships funded by the Australian Government. They offer the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia and for high-achieving Australians to do the same overseas.

Twenty-six Australia Awards recipients from Nepal attending a two-day pre-departure briefing in Kathmandu to prepare them for life and studies in Australia. These future development leaders will commence their studies in various Australian universities in early 2018.
