Balbalika Ka Lagi YUWA: Raising Funds for Deprived Kids Through a Charitable Event

Kathmandu, 8 January, 2018: The first edition of ‘Balbalika Ka Lagi YUWA’, an upcoming charitable event intended to aid the underprivileged children of Dolakha district, is set to held on 13 January, 2018 at Sports Hive Jhamsikhel.

Under the guidance of Active Citizenship Department, a fund-raising event aiming to mobilize youth to support the rural schools of Nepal, YUWA is intending to help 487 children of Kudi Bari Madhyamik School, Makaibari, Dolakha by providing them with warm clothes.

The motive behind this charitable event is to directly benefit those children and to set an example to initiate such kinds of events by other organizations, relevant stakeholders and most importantly, the government itself to work on this area.

Neetesh Jung Kunwar, Sandhya Joshi, the grooving DJ ATR, StepOn band from St. Xavier’s College and Thames Dance Club along with other performers will be performing live in the event.

Food stalls, games stalls, photo booth, dance party and many other appealing programs are set up in the event to make it more engaging. Supported by Thames International College Kathmandu, Nepal Mega College, Career Wings Pvt. Ltd, Outdoor Adventure Center Nepal, WAVE Magazine Nepal, Edwise Studies, Landmark Education and Riviera International Academy, the event will welcome country’s eminent colleges, government organizations, non-governmental organizations, international organizations working in this domain.

YUWA is a registered, non-profit, youth run and youth-led organization working to enhance the youth participation in decision-making levels through empowerment and advocacy with the objective of creating platforms for youth to enhance their capabilities. ‘Balbalika Ka Lagi YUWA’ calls every youth in the country to let them make threads of network in support for this noble cause and together spread warmth this winter.
