Budhanilkantha Students preparing to host ‘Model United Nations’ 2017

Kathmandu, November 7, 2017: The Awareness Club of Budhanilkantha School (BNKS) is organizing Model United Nations (MUN) program in Kathmandu this Nov 18-19, with the aim of establishing an educational simulation and academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.

The first BNKS MUN involved participants from different schools around the country, which aided to convey the importance and expression of the meetings of the United Nations itself. However, in course of time, the club focused its eyes on several other activities which gradually suppressed the conduction of MUN in the school.

And now, nearly two decades later, the senior most students of the school are reintroducing MUN with more zeal and thrive.

BNKS MUN is a two-day-long event being held within the premises of Budhanilkantha School.

The event is being hosted by the MUN Event committee under the banner of “Awareness Club” of Budhanilkantha School. The club and the committee work under a group of senior students of GCE A-Levels and HSEB +2 studying in the school. The same group is responsible for conducting the program while the chairs who would judge the delegates comprise of experienced individuals not related to the club for unbiased decision making.

Event Timeline:

November 18: Opening Ceremony + Session 1 and 2 (9 am to 5 pm)

November 19: Session 3 + Closing Ceremony (9 am to 5 pm)
