Butwal, February 1, 2017: On the special occasion of Saraswati Puja today, Rotaract Club of Butwal and Nepalese Students’ Club jointly held a cleaning campaign around the Pavitranagar area of Butwal.

The programme was conducted with the motto ‘Let’s team up to clean up’.

Around 30 youths participated the campaign. The cleanliness programme lasted for 1 hour in which all the volunteers collected wrappers and other plastics materials scattered around the road.

After the cleanliness session was over, a closing of the programme was held by giving a surprise birthday party to Mr. Basanta Shrestha, President of Rotaract Club of Butwal. Shrestha is a renowned singer and social worker in Butwal. The club members had organized a small birthday celebration to recognize his works, who had put appreciable efforts to carry out social reformation programmes in the area.

Speaking at the session, Shrestha insisted all the club members to allocate at least one hour per month to cleanup their surroundings.
