Kathmandu, July 5, 2017: Teach for Nepal has announced applications for fellowship for the year 2018.

Teach for Nepal (TFN) is a movement of outstanding university graduates and young professionals who are committed to end education inequity in Nepal starting with two years of fellowship teaching in public schools. Started in the year 2013, TFN is now actively involved in teaching in various government schools in remote villages of Nepal

TFN Fellowship is a globally recognized 2 -years of full-time paid employment opportunity for individuals with minimum Bachelor’s degree. During the two years, the fellows teach in public schools and bring about academic achievement and transformative impact in their students.

With an objective of ending the education inequity in Nepal, 86 Teach For Nepal Fellows are currently teaching in 32 schools across Dhanusha, Lalitpur and Sindupalchowk districts reaching to about 6000 students. They are working to close the achievement gap between public schools and private schools.

TFN Fellows’ classrooms impact will be primarily focused on accelerating their students in Mathematics, Science, and English. Beyond their classrooms, they will also take up the leadership challenge to work as community change agents and engage in diverse community initiatives.

Incentives:

Teach for Nepal offers an attractive incentive package for selected Fellows. The package includes leadership training opportunities, financial incentives, internship and the possibility of job placements as well as opportunities for scholarships and graduate studies (for a Master’s degree) in prestigious colleges and universities in Nepal and abroad.

The fellows will also go through an extensive training, preparing them with leadership skills they need during their Fellowship journey.

Eligibility for Fellowship:

The applicants should have completed or will have taken the final examinations of Bachelor’s degree Final Year no later than 31 December 2017.
