For aspiring entrepreneurs, the journey of turning a business idea into a viable business can be tough. The rigorous amount of market research, planning, team building and financing required to start a venture can be overwhelming to any entrepreneur.
To assist for the same, STARTUPSNepal, an online startup community of Nepal is coming up with Udhyami Seed Camp, a rigorous 5-days long entrepreneurial boot-camp designed to turn your idea into a viable business. The programme intends to support innovative, promising and impactful ideas of aspiring entrepreneurs looking to learn, work and network with senior entrepreneurs and industry experts. Subsequently, help them attract seed fund and start their ventures. It is a thematic programme focused on various arenas, including IT, agriculture, education, tourism, hospitality, health and many more around which businesses can be built.
In this edition, the organizers are focusing on startups built around women co-founders and will be accepting teams of 2-4 founding members with at least 1 female co-founder that envisions increased participation and leadership of women in business.
The programme provides a platform to develop one’s ideas, validate, refine and present them to potential investors. The essential elements for starting a business like identifying market gaps and needs, analyzing product viability and business possibility, networking with skilled people and getting exposure help build foundations of a promising business.
Simultaneously, pitching sessions followed by business refinement in front of interested investors shall further assist these aspiring entrepreneurs to kick off their business.
Furthermore, the programme will have follow-up sessions twice a month to keep track of and guide these Udhyamis through their journey. In addition, a strong community and media tie-ups of the organizers would provide exposure to the participants, associates and sponsoring partners.
Udhyami Seed Camp thus aims to identify some of the best idea phase startups and provide them with the necessary resources to help them refine their business idea and kick-start their entrepreneurial journey.
Women focused edition
The sparse involvement of women starts with the lack of opportunities from the beginning of their lives. Hence, this first edition of Udhaymi Seed Camp emphasizes on providing women entrepreneurs a platform to improve their business skills and showcase their potential and make the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Nepal more inclusive.
The organizers will select 20 potential ideas with 2-4 founders in the startup team having at least 1 female founder. The selected startups will be given equal opportunities to work with experienced and expert entrepreneurs, coaches, investors and potential stakeholders from various industries, enabling them to be a part of a vibrant entrepreneurial community.
