Kathmandu, June 12, 2017: US Embassy Youth Council, a community of Nepalese Youths established to inform the U.S. Embassy about the challenges young Nepalese face and what can be done to address them along with encouraging the participation of council members in their communities and the larger civil society, has called for applications from interested Nepali youths for 2017-18 cohort.

As part of their one-year journey as membership, the cohort of 53 members will get to attend different awareness sessions where people from different walks of life share their experiences of the social projects that they have initiated and how it is impacting the people along with mentoring the members on their planned projects and visions.

In this duration, the council members will get to learn, network and grow through various programmes and projects. They will also be forming teams, propose and implement projects that promote youth engagement in civil society.

The members will also actively participate in various interactive sessions that US Embassy conducts at different times to discuss on various issues. Along with this, they will also involve themselves in different civic engagement projects where they get to nurture their leadership skills.

Active Nepalese youths (18-27) having the mission to make a difference in their community are highly encouraged to apply for the fellowship.

The selected members will engage with the US Embassy from August 2017 to July 2018.

The application is open until July 12, 2017, and can be filled up online through the website usyc.weinspirenepal.org.
