China Hands Over Medical Appliances Worth Rs 200 Million To Civil Service Hospital

Kathmandu, Dec 26, 2014: The government of China has donated different medical appliances worth Rs 200 million to the Civil Service Hospital at Minbhawan.

At a special programme organised at the Hospital premises this morning during Nepal visit of Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, 26 different medical appliances were handed over, said Director at the Hospital, Dr Bimal Kumar Thapa.

The support was provided as per the agreement signed between Nepal and China in 2012.The agreement was signed by Secretary at the Ministry of General Administration, Naindra Prasad Upadhyay and Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai at the presence of Geneal Administration Minister Lalbabu Pandit and Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang.

The 132-bed hospital building was constructed at a cost of Rs 650 million of the Chinese government.

The hospital has been providing its services to civil servants at 50 per cent discount.
